One of the highlights for me so far as a wedding photographer has been shooting Louise and Leighton's wedding on the Hawkesbury river in Sydney, Australia. Looking back, ending up in a lovely location was exactly what I needed creatively after an English summer of weddings.

I started by naturally photographing the morning preparations at the boat house, in no time at all Lou was in her dress, all smiles. I also had the chance to be with Leighton as he got ready just a short walk away. It was then time for the ceremony where we all listened to the vows they had chosen to say to each other. It was great seeing so many people there witnessing that part of the day.

As the evening came, I couldn’t help but feel inspired. When the golden Sydney light faded, it felt like there was no place like it on earth. Louise and Leighton have a wonderful group of friends who were very much involved in making their day a very happy and memorable one.

I always say it's the people that make the wedding day special, everything else is a bonus.
