ThE cROOKED bILLET

Ella & Anthony

It only seemed like just yesterday that I was talking in a video call with Ella and Anthony about their plans for the big day. Looking back I have not photographed a wedding quite like this one. Family and friends had such a great time throughout, which made it a pleasure to photograph.

I started the day by photographing Ella with friends and family. There was a relaxing atmosphere from the beginning, which I always find to be a great help. Before I entered the house, I had just been absorbed in reading the same newspaper as Ella’s father. And of course this was around the time of the news of Her Majesty’s passing, which dominated the headlines. I didn’t get to hear what he made of it all as things soon take over and gather momentum when I'm shooting. So onto the Crooked Billet, a great choice to have a celebration. And I know that wedding guests always appreciate things taking place in the same location.

I really liked seeing the involvement of friends during the ceremony and some wonderful reactions during the speeches. My night ended on a packed dance floor. It was a great day to be a part of. Enjoy watching the highlights slideshow and viewing some of my favourite images.
